Do you need help reaching your goals? Meet Our Well-Loved Health Coaches

Strong people ask for help.

Health coaches have become so valuable in recent years. Even if you don’t have a huge health goal, there’s a good chance that you can benefit from working with a coach.

How can finding a coach help you reach your health and wellness goals?

When you connect with a health coach, here is what to expect:

A health coach is YOU-centered

They know what works for one person does not always work for another; therefore, they will not give you a generalized recommendation for eating or how to get more sleep and fit exercise into your day. A health coach relies on evidence-based methods as well as positive psychology.

Their approach is very different from the approach of a medical doctor. They are the support that fills in the gaps between what a doctor says to do and how you can make that work into your REAL life.

Health Coaches help you get unstuck

They can discover what is keeping you from reaching your goals through conversations in person or online.

During your meetings, you will be asked questions that will help you become aware of challenges that might have been unseen, and they will guide you through the process of overcoming these challenges.

Weight Loss Support

If losing weight is your goal, health coaches have your back. They use evidenced-based methods. In fact, a study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that individuals who met with a health coach to improve their diet and overall lifestyle (we call it a healthstyle) experienced more significant weight loss than those who didn’t get support.

Create actionable goals that fit into your real life

Health coaches want to see you succeed. They will guide you through creating an easy-to-follow plan that will improve your overall well-being.

A favorite saying at Balanced Healthstyles is “Strong people ask for help” as well as “How can this be easy?

A study published in 2015 by the National Library of Medicine shows that over the course of 12 weeks, people in the study improved their healthy behaviors, eating self-efficacy, and goal setting skills with the support of their health coaches.

See an overall improvement in your health

In 2017 the National Library of Medicine studied the clinical effectiveness of lifestyle health coaches. The results showed that over the course of working with a coaching program, there are several significant improvements in health, such as:

  • Body weight
  • Blood pressure
  • Sleep hygiene
  • Physical activity
  • Blood sugar
  • Cholesterol

A health coach also provides:

  • Accountability: There is no denying that checking in with another person can give you the push you need to keep moving forward.
  • Encouragement: Health coaches are skills in defining progress and looking at the big picture. Often, a simple perspective shift can be a game changer to keep you on track.
  • Unconditional support: A health coach doesn’t judge your actions or compare you to another person or data point. They help you figure out what works and what doesn’t work for you while reaching your goals.

So take the leap to find a coach

You only have one body and one life, so it’s important to live a life that is satisfying. There is no shame in asking for help to reach your goals. Health coaches are qualified to offer you a well-rounded perspective on your health, one that listens to YOU and makes YOU a priority.
